I just started a running program and while I like it I noticed I am sore more. I stretch but still feel really tight when I run…also I don’t know how to work in strength/toning lifts into my regimen…help!!

Hi! I began the get running couch to 5k app and what I’ve found frustrating is inconsistency. I had to repeat my week 3 runs for 3 weeks to feel good with them. This past Sunday I began week runs. First was so excited: finished no problem, second was harder but did it and third: for the last 5 minute run/jog I had to slow to a walk 3 times 😦 complete disappointment since I was expecting the opposite to happen. Needless to say going to repeat this week again. Sigh. Is this normal?
I had a few weeks (around week four, I think) that were really tough too, and another friend who just started the program told me she had to repeat a week recently. It definitely happens. I’ll check with my experts and see what they have to say!
